Coverage breakdown

NBC will be repeating its massively successful programming strategy from the Summer Olympics in Paris this year in Italy. The NBC broadcast network will air live coverage of marquee events (figure skating, snowboarding, and speed skating) in the afternoons from 12-5 PM most days, with weekends getting an earlier start at 7 AM. The daytime show will air live in all US time zones.

In primetime, the “best-of-the-day” highlight show, titled “Primetime in Milan” will air nightly at 8 PM ET/PT. A late-night show will follow local news at 11:35 PM, followed by an encore of the primetime show at 1 AM.

On Sunday, February 8, NBC’s primetime show will directly follow the network’s coverage of Super Bowl LX, with Mike Tirico hosting from the field at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

Peacock will once again carry coverage of every event live and on-demand, including all TV coverage. All events can also be accessed on NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app with authentication from a cable/satellite provider.

The popular “Gold Zone” show will return with live whiparound coverage hosted by a team that includes Scott Hanson. The show airs at 8 AM on Peacock and NBCSN beginning Saturday, February, 7.

On cable, USA Network will air 24/7 coverage throughout the games, including key events in the early morning hours, and all of Team USA’s men’s and women’s hockey games. CNBC will air nightly encores of curling at 5 PM ET, with live coverage of curling and hockey on the weekends.

San Antonio led all markets for the NBA Finals, averaging a 25.9 rating for the Spurs’ five-game defeat at the hands of the Knicks. That figure almost certainly trails each of the Spurs’ previous NBA Finals — the market routinely delivered local ratings in the 30s and 40s during those years — albeit in a different era of television (and Nielsen methodology).
