The final game of the Sixers/Celtics series earned solid numbers for ABC Saturday.
Game 7 of the Sixers/Celtics second round NBA playoff series drew a 5.5 overnight rating on ABC Saturday night, up 15% from Grizzlies/Thunder Game 7 on a Sunday afternoon last year (4.8*), and even with Celtics/Magic Game 1 on the comparable weekend in 2010 (5.5).
Compared to the only Saturday night playoff game on ABC last year, the 5.5 for Sixers/Celtics marks just a 4% decline from a 5.7 for Heat/Celtics Game 3.
Saturday’s game drew the second-highest overnight of the playoffs on ABC, trailing only Heat/Pacers Game 4 the previous weekend (5.9).
* According to ESPN, last year’s Grizzlies/Thunder Game 7 drew a 4.8 overnight rating. Previously, SMW reported that the game had a 5.1 overnight.
