The Stanley Cup Finals got off to a roaring start last night.
Game 1 between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings drew a 1.8 cable rating and 2.3 million viewers on Versus Saturday night, tying Game 2 of the Penguins/Flyers series as the second highest rated sporting event in network history.
The 1.8 rating for the game is up 157% from last year, and marks the highest rating for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals since 2002.
Earlier this month, the aforementioned Game 2 between the Penguins and Flyers drew a 1.8 rating with 2.4 million viewers on Versus.
