The numbers were fairly mediocre, but FOX earned its highest rating of the season for primetime baseball.
Regional Major League Baseball action featuring Yankees/Tigers in 63% of markets drew a 2.1 final rating on FOX last Saturday night, down 13% from primetime coverage featuring Cardinals/Rockies last year (2.4), but up 50% from afternoon coverage featuring Rays/Rangers in 2010 (1.4).
The 2.1 is the highest of the season for a primetime MLB telecast on FOX. The previous primetime windows drew ratings of 1.9 (May 19) and 1.7 (May 26).
With that said, the 2.1 is still the third-lowest ever for a primetime, regular season baseball telecast on FOX.
Last week’s telecast outdrew competing coverage of the NHL Stanley Cup Final by 24% (2.1 to 1.7).
