- Inside the NFL is headed to Showtime starting next season. HBO canceled the venerable NFL studio show last year, after 31 years on the network. Showtime corporate sibling CBS Sports will produce the telecasts, which will air every Wednesday during football season.
- Coverage of The Breeders Cup is headed back to network television this year, after two years of airing exclusively on ESPN. ABC will air 2 1/2 hours of coverage of the event on Saturday, October 25, prior to college football coverage. In 2006, the first year the Breeders Cup aired exclusively on cable (ESPN), ratings fell 53% from the previous year’s levels, when the event aired on broadcast (NBC).
