- The first three days of the Euro 2008 tournament drew good numbers on the ESPN family of networks. The most watched telecast was a Germany/Poland match on ESPN2, which drew 683,000 viewers. Coming in second place was the Netherlands/Italy match on ESPN Monday, which finished with 553,000 viewers. The USA/Argentina exhibition match on Sunday night drew 457,000 viewers — very impressive when one considers it aired on ESPN Classic.
- The Yankees may have a .500 record, but viewers are watching in droves. Through the first two months of the season, YES Network is averaging a 4.4 rating for Yankees games, “the highest ratings for that time span since in 13 years.” A recent Yankees/Royals game drew a 6.5 rating on YES, the second highest rated Yankees game ever on the network that did not involve the Red Sox.
- The recently completed French Open saw increased ratings on ESPN2. The network averaged a 0.4 cable rating with 465,000 viewers for its 51 hours of coverage, up 33% and 28% from a 0.3 rating with 364,000 viewers last year.
