CBS college basketball coverage is undergoing a major overhaul.
Analyst Billy Packer, who has called 34 straight Final Fours and has been with CBS for 27 years, will not be retained for the upcoming season. Packer will be replaced by longtime studio analyst Clark Kellogg.
According to the Miami Herald, CBS “believed the time was right” to replace the often controversial Packer.
Former ESPN NBA analyst Greg Anthony will likely replace Kellogg in the studio, “though his deal hasn’t been finalized.” Anthony had been an NBA analyst for ESPN since 2002, though his role significantly diminished last season.
