FOX NFL analyst Michael Strahan will reportedly fill the vacancy left by Regis Philbin on ‘Live With Kelly’ this fall.
According to multiple reports, Strahan will be named the co-host of ABC’s ‘Live With Kelly’ in early September. Based on the network’s previously announced plans, Strahan would make his debut on Tuesday, September 4.
Strahan’s new role is not expected to interfere with his existing duties on FOX NFL coverage. The Los Angeles Times reported Monday that Strahan would continue to serve as an NFL studio analyst for the network, where has worked since 2008.
Strahan is not the first NFL player to make the transition to morning television. Former Giants teammate Tiki Barber had a brief run with NBC that included a stint on the ‘Today’ show.
