The game was not close, but the debut of the “SEC on CBS” managed to hold steady compared to last year.
Saturday’s Alabama/Arkansas college football game drew a 3.0 overnight rating on CBS, even with Tennessee/Florida last year (3.0), and down 14% from Florida/Tennessee in 2010 (3.5).
At the start of the season, Alabama/Arkansas looked like a marquee matchup. However, Arkansas lost to UL-Monroe in Week 2, dropped out of the top 25, and then lost Saturday 52-0.
Even so, the game easily topped concurrent regional college football action on ABC (1.9).
