Despite a drop in the overnights, final ratings for last week’s NFL national window finished up from last year.
The Week 3 NFL national window, featuring Texans/Broncos, earned a 14.4 final rating and 24 million viewers on CBS last Sunday — up 2% in ratings and flat in viewership from coverage featuring Packers/Bears on FOX last year (14.1, 23.995M), and up 3% and 4%, respectively, from coverage featuring Colts/Broncos on CBS in 2010 (14.0, 23.134M).
The telecast was the highest rated and most-viewed of a tumultuous Week 3, topping both Patriots/Ravens on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” (12.9, 21.272M), and the infamous Packers/Seahawks game on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” (10.3 16.167M).
Earlier Sunday, regional action including Chiefs/Saints drew a 9.0 final rating — up 7% from coverage featuring Giants/Eagles on FOX last year (8.4), and up 13% from coverage including Titans/Giants on CBS in 2010 (8.0).
