Through the first five days of the playoffs, no game attracted a larger audience than Friday’s A.L. matchup between the Orioles and Rangers.
Friday’s Orioles/Rangers American League Wild Card game drew 5.304 million viewers on TBS, the highest of any 2012 postseason game through the first five days.
The game drew over one million more viewers than the top Division Series game thus far — Monday’s Yankees/Orioles Game 2 (4.222M).
Earlier Friday, the Cardinals/Braves National League Wild Card game scored 3.990 million viewers, up 39% from Game 1 of last year’s Rays/Rangers ALDS in the same timeslot last year.
Neither Wild Card game could attract as large an audience as the most recent MLB one-game playoff, the 2009 Twins/Tigers AL Central tiebreaker on TBS (6.543M).
