On a busy college football Saturday, the SEC led the way by a wide margin.
Saturday’s LSU/Florida college football game earned a 4.6 final rating on CBS — up 44% from the same matchup last year (3.2), but actually down 4% from Alabama/South Carolina in 2010 (4.8).
The 4.6 rating is the second-highest of the season for college football on any network, trailing only Michigan/Alabama on ABC in the first week of the season (4.8).
Excluding the SEC Championship Game, the 4.6 is the highest for a Saturday afternoon college football game on CBS since Georgia/Auburn in November 2010 (5.0). Of course, that excludes primetime games and ‘Black Friday’ telecasts, which routinely earn big numbers.
Earlier Saturday, CBS drew a 1.1 final rating for Navy/Air Force — down a tick from the same matchup in week five of last season (1.2).
