Ratings for NFL preseason games this year. Six preseason games on NBC, CBS and FOX averaged a 2.9 rating, down 28% from a 4.0 for nine games across the three networks last year.
Some of the drop in ratings can be credited to fewer Sunday night nationally televised preseason games and competition from the recently completed 2008 Beijing Olympics.
