Tropical Storm Hanna has resulted in some major changes to the weekend national television schedule.
NASCAR has moved the Chevy Rock n’ Roll 400 from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon. The race was supposed to kick off the start of ABC’s NASCAR coverage, but will instead air at 1 PM ET on ESPN. The rescheduling leaves ABC with no sports on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, the USTA has several contingency plans in case Hanna disrupts the U.S. Open schedule. The men’s semifinals, originally set to air Saturday at noon, instead began at 11 AM. If neither men’s semifinal is completed, both will air tomorrow — one at 1 PM on ESPN2 and the other at 4 PM on CBS. The men’s final would then air at 5 PM on Monday on CBS. Meanwhile, if the women’s final is not played tonight, it will air tomorrow at 9 PM on CBS. If both men’s semifinals are completed, but the women’s final is rained out, CBS will carry both finals on Sunday — one at 4 PM and the other at 9 PM.
