For the second straight week, Alabama attracted an impressive TV audience for CBS.
Saturday’s Texas A&M/Alabama college football game drew a 6.6 overnight rating on CBS, up 136% from Auburn/Georgia last year (2.8), and up 22% from Georgia/Auburn in 2010 (5.4).
The 6.6 overnight is the second-highest of the season for college football on any network, trailing only Alabama/Louisiana State on CBS the previous week (7.0).
The top non-CBS game this season was Notre Dame/Oklahoma on ABC two weeks ago, which earned a 5.9 overnight.
The 6.6 also ranks as the highest overnight for an afternoon college football game on CBS since Auburn/Alabama on “Black Friday” in 2010 (7.5).
