- Larry Munson: The legendary voice of University of Georgia college football games retired earlier this week at 85. According to his son, Munson, who has been dealing with health issues that reduced his workload to home games only, “made the decision [to retire] … after consultation with his family, doctor and close friends.”
- Dick Lynch: The New York Giants radio broadcaster passed away Wednesday at age 72, following a battle with leukemia. Lynch, whose last game was the Giants’ victory in Super Bowl XLII, had worked as the team’s radio analyst since 1968.
- Troy Brown: After retiring earlier Thursday, the former New England Patriots wide receiver has joined Comcast SportsNet New England. Brown will work as a studio analyst for Mohegan Sun Sports Tonight, and will also “focus on feature pieces from Gillette Stadium involving the Patriots and its players during the week.”
