The Jets were America’s tryptophan on Thanksgiving night.
The Week 12 Patriots/Jets NFL regular season game drew a 10.1 final rating and 19.2 million viewers on NBC Thanksgiving night — up 91% in ratings and 80% in viewership from Niners/Ravens on NFL Network last year (5.3, 10.7M), and up 197% and 170%, respectively, from Bengals/Jets in 2010 (3.4, 7.1M).
Of course, those increases are not much to celebrate. NBC is in nearly fifty million more homes than NFL Network.
Patriots/Jets earned the lowest rating of the season for the NFL on NBC, falling below the previous mark of 10.7 set in Week 7 and Week 8. It was only the fifth-least viewed.
Overall, the game earned the worst Thanksgiving Day numbers for the NFL on broadcast TV since at least 2008.
