- Heading into the final Saturday of the season, FOX is virtually assured to set a new record low average rating for Major League Baseball on broadcast. Regional action last Saturday drew a 1.7/4 final rating, marking the sixth straight week MLB on FOX has failed to draw even a 2.0 rating. FOX is averaging a 2.0 rating for 25 MLB broadcasts, down 15% from a 2.3 through the comparable date last year.
- With the Mets collapsing for the second straight year, ratings for telecasts on SNY have reached season-high levels. The Mets’ games against the Cubs on Wednesday and Thursday both averaged a 5.7 rating in the New York area, the best marks of the season. Thursday’s game, which the Mets won in walk-off fashion, peaked with a 9.4 from 10:15-10:30 PM.
- The Yankees’ final game at Yankee Stadium drew a 2.1 national rating (2.4 cable rating) and 3.1 million viewers on ESPN last Sunday, making the game the seventh-most viewed Sunday Night Baseball telecast of the season.
