The Big Ten Championship Game was ugly on the field and in the ratings.
Saturday’s Wisconsin/Nebraska Big Ten Championship Game drew a 2.5 overnight rating on FOX, down 42% from the inaugural game between Wisconsin and Michigan State last year (4.3).
Though down from last year, the 2.5 overnight marks a 47% increase over Stanford/UCLA the previous Saturday night (1.7).
Wisconsin/Nebraska was outdrawn head-to-head by Texas/Kansas State on ABC’s “Saturday Night Football,” but topped the Florida State/Georgia Tech ACC Championship Game on ESPN.
On Friday night, the Stanford/UCLA Pac-12 Championship Game (not to be confused with the regular season game mentioned above) earned a 3.3 overnight rating — up a tick from the inaugural game between Oregon and UCLA last year (3.2).
The 3.3 overnight is the second-best of the season for college football on FOX, trailing only a 3.5 for Southern Cal/Oregon in week ten of the season.
