For the eighth time in thirteen weeks, ratings and viewership dropped for the NFL national window.
The Week 13 NFL national window, featuring Steelers/Ravens, earned a 13.9 final rating and 23.0 million viewers on CBS Sunday — down 21% in ratings and 23% in viewership from coverage featuring Packers/Giants on FOX last year (17.6, 29.8M), and down 15% and 16%, respectively, from coverage featuring Cowboys/Colts on FOX in 2010 (16.3, 27.4M).
The telecast suffered the biggest drop in ratings and viewership for the NFL national window this season. The previous mark was set in Week 6, when coverage on FOX declined by 20% in both measures.
So far this season, eight of thirteen NFL national window telecasts have had declines compared to last year.
Despite the drop, the telecast again topped “Sunday Night Football” on NBC. The national window has beaten “SNF” in ten of thirteen weeks this season.
