Though shy of the over 40 million viewers that watched last year’s comparable game, Sunday’s clash between Seattle and Washington earned strong numbers on FOX.
Sunday’s Seattle/Washington NFC Wild Card game drew a 21.5 final rating and 38.1 million viewers on FOX, down 10% in ratings and viewership from Steelers/Broncos on CBS last year (24.0, 42.4M), and down 3% in both measures from Packers/Eagles on FOX in 2011 (22.1, 39.3M).
The game ranks as the lowest rated and least-viewed Wild Card game in the late Sunday window since Packers/Cardinals in 2010 (19.6, 34.4M).
With that said, the Seahawks’ comeback victory also ranks as the third-most watched Wild Card game of all-time. Only Steelers/Broncos last year and Packers/Eagles in 2011 earned better numbers.
Among adults 18-49, Sunday’s game drew a 13.4 rating — down 10% from last year’s 14.8.
