NBC drew a 9.6/15 final rating and 15.9 million viewers for Bears/Vikings on Sunday night, up 5% and 11% respectively from a 9.1 and 14.4 million for the comparable Bengals/Steelers game last year. Ratings peaked early at an 11.0 from 9:30-9:45 PM. During the final full quarter-hour of the game, NBC drew a 9.3/16.
So far this season, NBC is averaging a 10.0 rating and 16.2 million viewers for Sunday Night Football, down 2% and 1%, respectively, from a 10.3 and 16.3 million through the same period in ’07.
Meanwhile, a matchup between lackluster teams led to the lowest Monday Night Football ratings of the season. ESPN drew a 6.9 cable rating and 8.9 million viewers for Jaguars/Texans Monday, down 47% and 49%, respectively, from a 13.0 cable rating and 17.5 million for Patriots/Ravens on the comparable date in ’07.
Through Week 13, ESPN is averaging an 8.9 cable rating and 12 million viewers for Monday Night Football, up 1% and 4%, respectively, from an 8.8 with 11.5 million through the same point in ’07.
Finally, Cardinals/Eagles on Thanksgiving night drew 3.8 million viewers on NFL Network, up 15% from 3.3 million for the fourth NFL Network telecast of last season, a December 13 game between the Broncos and Texans. Compared to the NFL Network’s Thanksgiving night telecast in ’07, the 3.8 million viewers was down 10% from 4.2 million for Colts/Falcons.
Through four telecasts, NFL Network is averaging 3.6 million viewers for live NFL telecasts, down 33% from 5.4 million through the network’s first four telecasts in ’07. Last year’s numbers are boosted by the 10.1 million viewers for a Packers/Cowboys telecast.
