The Boston Celtics 27-2 start has led to strong ratings locally.
The Celtics win over the Bulls last Friday, the seventeenth straight victory in their 19 game winning streak, drew a 7.5 rating on Comcast SportsNet New England — the highest rating ever for a Celtics game on the network.
The 7.5 eclipses the previous record of 6.8, set in November for a Hawks/Celtics game.
So far this season, CSN New England has seen a 36% increase in households for Celtics telecasts.
In other NBA ratings news, Atlanta Hawks telecasts have seen increased ratings locally. Games on FSN South are averaging a 1.5 rating, up 71% from a 0.9 in ’07, and games on SportSouth are averaging a 2.1 — up 110% from last year’s 1.0.
