With the benefit of airing a game in the highly-rated late Sunday afternoon window, FOX drew the highest overnight rating of Wild Card weekend.
The Eagles’ win over the Vikings drew a 19.9/33 overnight rating on FOX late Sunday afternoon, up 7% from an 18.6/32 for Titans/Chargers on CBS in ’08, and the highest overnight rating for a Wild Card Saturday telecast since Eagles/Giants drew a 20.4/34 in ’07.
Compared to the Wild Card game on FOX last year, the 19.9 overnight is a 16% improvement over the 17.1 rating Giants/Buccaneers drew in the early 1 PM window.
In prime time, FOX averaged a 14.3 rating and 24.9 million viewers for the end of the game and postgame coverage, helping the network easily win the 7 PM hour.
