- Rodney Harrison: NBC has added yet another guest analyst to its Super Bowl XLIII coverage. Harrison, currently of the New England Patriots, will join Bob Costas, Keith Olbermann, Dan Patrick, Tiki Barber, Cris Collinsworth, Jerome Bettis, Peter King, Matt Millen, Tony Dungy and Mike Holmgren as the 11th analyst on NBC’s Super Bowl pregame show.
- Sean Casey: The MLB first baseman has retired to join MLB Network. Casey, who most recently played for the Boston Red Sox, will have an as-of-yet undefined role on the fledgling network. MLB Network has scheduled a conference call for Tuesday to make the announcement.
- Paul Zimmerman: The Sports Illustrated writer better known as Dr. Z, who suffered two debilitating strokes late last year, has apparently suffered a setback in his recovery. SI colleague Peter King reports that Zimmerman “had a third, minor stroke while in his New Jersey rehab facility, and some of the progress he?d made in the first few days in the place was lost. … [A]s of now, he cannot speak, has difficulty reading because of the effects of the strokes on his eyes, and does not have full use of his right side, including his arm and leg.”
