ESPN Hires Bettis
- Former NBC NFL analyst Jerome Bettis has joined ESPN in the same capacity, the network announced Wednesday. Bettis, who was one of the original analysts on NBC’s “Football Night in America” pregame, will contribute to “NFL Live” and “SportsCenter” starting September 1. (ESPN Media Zone)
Mayne Returns to “SportsCenter”

- Los Angeles Clippers G Chris Paul has been elected president of the National Basketball Players Association. Paul, who replaces Derek Fisher, is the highest-profile NBA player to hold the position since Patrick Ewing‘s tumultuous run from 1997-01. Assuming either the players or owners opt out of the current deal — a real possibility — the current NBA collective bargaining agreement expires after the 2016-17 season. (CBS Sports)
