CBS had a solid, though unspectacular, outing in Week 1 of the NFL season.
The Week 1 NFL singleheader window earned a 9.5 final rating and 15.5 million viewers on CBS Sunday, the highest rating for the network’s season opener since 2010.
Last year’s opener had a 9.0 rating, and the 2011 telecast had a 9.1.
The telecast outdrew competing regional action on FOX by 6% in both ratings and viewership (9.0, 14.6M).
