Despite Sox/Yanks, Mediocre Numbers For MLB on FOX
- Regional MLB action featuring Red Sox/Yankees earned a 1.5 U.S. rating and 2.1 million viewers on FOX Saturday afternoon, up 36% in ratings from coverage featuring Dodgers/Giants last year (1.1), and up 7% and down 2%, respectively, compared to coverage featuring Rangers/Red Sox in 2011 (1.4, 2.1M). - Saturday’s West Virginia/Oklahoma college football game drew a 2.0 final rating and 3.4 million viewers on FOX, down 29% in ratings and 20% in viewership from Nebraska/UCLA last year (2.8, 4.3M). In the other college football window on broadcast last weekend, regional action on ABC earned a 2.6 and 4.1 million — down 21% and 13%, respectively, from last year (3.3, 4.7M). (Nielsen)

- Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Deutsche Bank Championship, the second leg of the FedEx Cup, earned a 2.2 final rating and 3.2 million viewers on NBC Labor Day — down a third in ratings and 34% in viewership from last year (3.3, 4.8M), but up 22% and 21%, respectively, from 2011 (1.8, 2.6M).
