For the fourth time this season, the NFL singleheader on FOX outdrew “Sunday Night Football” on NBC.
The Week 9 NFL singleheader window, featuring Vikings/Cowboys, earned an 11.9 final rating and 20.1 million viewers on FOX last Sunday, topping NBC’s Colts/Texans “Sunday Night Football” game later in the day (10.4, 17.0M). Last year’s numbers were not available.
Of the five NFL singleheaders on FOX this season, four have topped the week’s corresponding “SNF” game.
Sunday’s telecast earned the third-highest rating and viewership of the season for the NFL singleheader, trailing only coverage in Week 2 (12.8, 21.9M) and Week 3 (12.5, 20.9M), both on FOX.
As is usually the case, the singleheader has been a much bigger draw on FOX than on CBS — the five FOX telecasts have earned ratings between 10.8 and 12.8, while the four CBS windows have finished between 8.2 and 9.9.
