For the third straight week, ratings and viewership dropped for the NFL national window.
The Week 10 NFL national window, featuring Broncos/Chargers, earned a 14.3 final rating and 24.1 million viewers on CBS Sunday — down 3% in ratings and 1% in viewership from coverage featuring Cowboys/Eagles on FOX last year (14.7, 24.3M), and down 8% and 7%, respectively, from coverage featuring Giants/49ers on FOX in 2011 (15.6, 25.9M).
The telecast is tied as the lowest rated NFL national window of the season. After seven straight increases to start the season, the last three national window telecasts have had declines in ratings and viewership.
Despite the lower numbers, the telecast was easily the highest rated and most-viewed of the week. The NFL national window has been the top telecasts in nine of ten weeks this season, the lone exception being Week 7 — when NBC’s Broncos/Colts game topped the charts.
Earlier in the day, regional action on CBS drew an 8.0 final rating and 12.7 million viewers.
