NFL to Air Early Morning Game Next Year
- The NFL has scheduled next year’s October 26 Falcons/Lions London game for 9:30 AM ET, possibly the earliest scheduled start in league history. The game will air on FOX, creating a fourth telecast window that day. The two other London games scheduled for next season will air in the traditional 1 PM ET timeslot. (NFL Communications)
Fox Sports to Retain UEFA Rights, Says Report
- Fox Sports Media Group is expected to retain English and Spanish-language rights to the UEFA Champions League, Sports Business Daily reported Friday. Fox Sports, the incumbent, was one of several bidders — along with NBC Sports Group, Univision and BeIn Sport. The new television contract goes into effect in 2015. (Sports Business Daily)
Pens/Hawks Outdoor Game Moves From NBCSN to NBC
- In a bit of old news, NBC Sports announced last month that the March 1 Penguins/Blackhawks NHL outdoor game has moved from NBCSN to the NBC broadcast network. The start time will remain 8 PM ET. Including the Maple Leafs/Red Wings Winter Classic and Rangers/Devils on January 26, NBC will televise three of the six NHL outdoor games this year. (NBC Sports Group Press Box)
