The first regular season game at the new Yankee Stadium will feature another prominent debut.
The New York Daily News reports that MLB Network broadcast Bob Costas will call the Yankees’ home opener against the Indians on MLB Network April 16. The game will be the first regular season tilt at the new Yankee Stadium, and Costas’ first MLB telecast since he called Game 6 of the 2000 ALCS.
Costas will be joined by Harold Reynolds and Jim Kaat on the broadcast, the latter of whom has apparently come out of retirement to return to broadcasting.
Indians/Yankees will be the first of 26 weekly Thursday night games on MLB Network, of which Costas will call an undetermined number.
