With the biggest event of the day on cable, NBC earned its lowest overnight yet for primetime coverage of the Winter Olympics.
Saturday’s primetime coverage of the 2014 Sochi Olympics earned a 10.3 overnight rating on NBC, the lowest primetime overnight of the Olympics-to-date. The previous low was an 11.7 the previous night.
Overnights for the comparable night of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics were not available. Versus the comparable night of the 2006 Turin Olympics (12.8), Saturday’s 10.3 overnight marks a 20% decline.
Locally, Minneapolis was the top market with a 15.7 rating — the lowest rating yet for the top local market. Denver turned in a 14.9, followed by Milwaukee (14.3), Salt Lake City (13.7) and Ft. Myers, FL (13.4).
