In a decade where the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics have dominated the Boston sports landscape, each winning titles, the Bruins are finally attracting some attention.
The Bruins, owners of the best record in the NHL’s Eastern Conference, had their highest rated game in twelve years on Thursday night. NESN drew a 4.7 rating in Boston for the Bruins’ game against the Canadiens, the highest rating of the season for a Bruins game, and the highest rating for a Bruins game since the team’s 1997-98 season opener.
To put that in perspective, the highest rated Celtics game of the season was a 7.5 for Celtics/Hawks in December, and the Red Sox’ season opener against the Rays drew a 17.9 on Tuesday.
