Overnight ratings perked up for the UEFA Champions League Final on FOX. In other news, overnights dropped for Formula 1 racing from Monaco, and CBS had declines for weekend coverage of the PGA Tour Crowne Plaza Invitational.
Overnights For UEFA Final Up 20%
- Saturday’s Real Madrid/Atletico Madrid UEFA Champions League Final earned a 1.2 overnight rating on FOX, up 20% from Bayern Munich/Dortmund last year (1.0) and down a tick from Chelsea/Bayern Munich in 2012 (1.3). The 1.2 overnight ranks third out of the five UEFA finals that have aired on FOX (2010-14). Of note, the UEFA final earned the same overnight as MLB on FOX later in the night.
Double-Digit Drop in Overnights For F1 From Monaco
- NBC earned a 1.1 overnight for the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco Sunday morning, down 15% from last year (1.3). The race, as should be expected, finished well behind both the IndyCar Series Indianapolis 500 (4.0) and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Coca-Cola 600 (3.9).
Declines For Crowne Plaza Invitational
- Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Crowne Plaza Invitational earned a 1.5 overnight rating on CBS Sunday, down 12% from last year (1.7), down 21% from 2012 (1.9), and a four-year low. Saturday’s third round coverage drew a 0.9 overnight, down 18% from last year (1.1) and down 25% from 2012 (1.2).
