Though the numbers were not impressively high — at least for Sunday Night Football — NBC hit a three-year high in overnights for Sunday’s Bears/49ers game.
The Week 2 Bears/49ers Sunday Night Football game drew a 14.0 overnight rating on NBC, up 3% from a delayed 49ers/Seahawks game last year (13.6), up a tick from Lions/49ers in 2012 (13.9), and the highest for SNF in Week 2 of the season since Eagles/Falcons in 2011 (15.7).
The Bears trailed Sunday’s game 17-0 at one point before coming back to win in the fourth quarter. It marked the second straight Sunday night game in which an early blowout turned into a proverbial nail-biter.
SNF earned the second-highest overnight of Week 2, edging Thursday Night Football on CBS and NFL Network (13.7) and trailing Sunday’s NFL national window on CBS alone (14.6).
