ABC drew strong numbers for Saturday Night Football last week.
Last Saturday’s Clemson/FSU college football game drew a 4.5 final rating and 7.3 million viewers on ABC, up 29% in ratings and 28% in viewership from regional action last year (3.5, 5.7M) and up 55% and 54%, respectively, from the same match-up in 2012 (2.9, 4.8M).
Clemson/FSU earned the season’s second-highest rating and viewership, trailing only Florida/Alabama on CBS earlier in the day (5.1, 7.9M). Head-to-head, it more-than-doubled both Mississippi State/LSU on ESPN (2.1, 3.5M) and Oklahoma/West Virginia on FOX (2.0, 3.2M).
ABC’s afternoon regional window drew a 1.8 and 2.8 million, the network’s lowest rated and least-viewed telecast of the season. Compared to last year, the telecast was down a tick in ratings but up 2% in viewership from a 1.9 and 2.8 million.
