For the first time all season, FOX managed an increase in overnights for NFL coverage.
The Week 5 NFL singleheader window, featuring Cardinals/Broncos in 37% of markets, drew a 12.8 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon — up 2% from coverage featuring Saints/Bears last year (12.5) and coverage featuring Eagles/Steelers in 2012 (12.5). The telecast ranks as the first of the season on FOX to have an increase in overnights (seven telecasts).
The 12.8 is the highest of the season for the NFL singleheader window. The three singleheaders on FOX have each topped a 12.0 overnight, while the comparable windows on CBS have fallen below that mark.
The singleheader tied NBC’s Sunday Night Football and finished only 3% behind the NFL national window on CBS.
