The rain-drenched 2009 U.S. Open will stretch into a fifth day, and NBC and ESPN will be there to cover it.
Final round coverage of the U.S. Open will air on both ESPN and NBC on Monday morning. ESPN will begin its coverage at 9 AM ET, followed by NBC at 11:30 AM. If there is a playoff, ESPN will provide coverage from 1:30-3:30 PM, with NBC picking up coverage afterward.
The Golf Channel will air Live From the U.S. Open from 8-9 AM on Monday, with another edition of the program set to air “immediately following network coverage.”
Thanks to the rain, NBC will end up airing at least 7 1/2 more hours of U.S. Open coverage than had been originally scheduled.
