For the third time in a week, ESPN earned its highest college football overnight of the year.
The Auburn/Mississippi game drew a 3.8 overnight rating on ESPN Saturday night, up 192% from Tennessee/Missouri last year (1.3) and ESPN’s top college football overnight of the season. The Tigers’ win was the third game in the span of a week to hit a season-high on ESPN.
The previous high was set just two days earlier by Florida State/Louisville (3.5), which topped a five-day old mark set by Mississippi/LSU (3.3). Prior to the recent run of season-highs, ESPN’s top overnight was a 3.1 for Tennessee/Georgia in September.
The SEC has accounted for three of the five highest rated ESPN games in the metered markets.
Despite the season-high, Auburn/Mississippi was not the top game of the week. That honor went to Florida/Georgia on CBS, which drew a 4.0 overnight.
