Though it was not the marquee match-up FOX hoped for at the start of the season, Giants/Seahawks still generated a slight increase in overnight ratings.
The Week 10 NFL national window, featuring Giants/Seahawks in 86% of markets, drew a 15.6 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon — up 5% from coverage on CBS featuring Broncos/Chargers last year (14.8) but down 4% from coverage on FOX featuring Cowboys/Eagles in 2012 (16.2).
The 15.6 is the lowest of the season for the NFL national window on FOX (five telecasts), falling below the previous mark of 16.7 in Week 4. With that said, the 15.6 tops three of the five national window telecasts on CBS.
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring 49ers/Saints in 64% of markets drew a 10.0 overnight — up 2% from last year on CBS (9.8) and up 19% from coverage on FOX featuring Giants/Bengals in 2012 (8.4).
After seven of the first eight NFL telecasts on FOX had declines in overnight ratings, six of the past seven have had increases. Keep in mind that does not include the 9:30 AM game from London in Week 8, for which there was no comparison to previous years.
