Monday Night Football had another soft outing on ESPN.
The Week 11 Steelers/Titans Monday Night Football game drew an 8.1 final rating and 12.8 million viewers on ESPN, down 18% in ratings and 19% in viewership from Patriots/Panthers last year (9.9, 15.8M) but up 3% and 2%, respectively, Bears/49ers in 2012 (7.9, 12.5M).
The Steelers’ win ranks as the top MNF telecast in three weeks, but the second of the past three to have a double-digit decline in both ratings and viewership. It was also the ninth of 12 telecasts to earn less than an 8.5 rating, surpassing last year’s full-season total of eight.
Steelers/Titans drew a 4.5 rating among adults 18-49, down 22% from last year (5.8) and down 6% from 2012 (4.8).
For the season, ESPN has averaged an 8.4 rating and 13.6 million viewers for MNF — down a tick in ratings but up 2% in viewership from last year (8.5, 13.4M), and up a tick and 4%, respectively, from 2012 (8.3, 13.0M).
