- Ron Franklin: The longtime ESPN play-by-play voice is “98.5 percent sure” that he will retire from broadcasting next year. Franklin, whose career in broadcasting spans nearly half a century, told The Oklahoman, “I think this is going to be my last rodeo. … I will not miss the travel. It?s just really beginning to beat me up.” Franklin’s contract expires in April of next year, and the 2010 NIT Championship could be his last event.
- Erin Andrews: The ESPN sideline reporter is scheduled to be off until September, an ESPN spokesman told the Associated Press. Andrews last appeared on ESPN at the ESPY Awards, and has been covering Major League Baseball games for the network. It is unknown whether this time off was previously scheduled, or is a result of recent events.
- Rich Eisen: The NFL Network anchor will host the 2009 Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony next month. Eisen replaces Chris Berman, who will be presenting Ralph Wilson Jr. for enshrinement.
