For the 13th time in 2009, MLB coverage on FOX failed to attract even 2% of U.S. television households.
Last Saturday’s regional MLB coverage, featuring Phillies/Braves, drew a 1.6/4 rating and 2.5 million viewers on FOX, marking the 13th time in 19 weeks that FOX has failed to draw a 2.0 rating for MLB coverage.
On a more positive note, the 1.6 rating was up 45% over a 1.1/3 for comparable coverage last year, marking the second straight week of double-digit ratings growth for MLB on FOX.
Through last Saturday, FOX is averaging a 1.9 rating for MLB coverage, down 10% from a 2.1 through the same point last year, down 21% from a 2.4 in ’07, and on pace for what would be a third-straight year of record low ratings for the MLB ‘Game of the Week’.
