- NBC’s coverage of the World Track & Field Championships drew a 1.0/3 rating and 1.4 million viewers last Saturday, and a 1.1/3 and 1.7 million viewers on Sunday. Meanwhile, the net’s coverage of the Visa Gymnastics Championships drew a 0.8 and 1.1 million viewers on Saturday afternoon, and a 1.7 and 2.5 million on Saturday night.
- Ratings for Washington Nationals telecasts are up dramatically, but still remain tiny. Nationals games are averaging a miniscule 0.58 rating in Washington, up 71% from a 0.34 through the same point last year. The 71% increase ranks as the highest in Major League Baseball.
- Last week’s Rangers/Twins series drew 3 of the Rangers’ 10 highest ratings of the season. The four-game series averaged a 4.0 rating, including a “season best 4.8” for last Wednesday night’s game, which featured Ivan Rodriguez‘ first game since rejoining the team. Rangers telecasts are averaging a 2.8 rating, up 61% from last year, and the second-highest increase in ratings in Major League Baseball this season.
Netflix officially announces expanded NFL deal
The NFL has officially reached a new deal with Netflix that will see the streamer bookend the season.
