FOX had a rare year-over-year increase for UFC coverage, but could not match the new Premier Boxing Champions series on NBC.
UFC on FOX 15 earned a 1.8 overnight rating on FOX Saturday night, up 13% from last April (1.6) and down 22% from April 2013 (2.3). The year-over-year increase is the first for a UFC on FOX telecast since the aforementioned April ’13 edition. Compared to the most recent UFC on FOX telecast in January, overnights declined 10% from a 2.0.
Saturday’s telecast earned a slightly lower overnight than the Premier Boxing Champions on NBC a week earlier (1.9). It also trailed NBC’s PBC debut in March by more than a quarter (2.5).
Head-to-head, the UFC edged the Penguins/Rangers NHL playoff game on NBC (1.7) but trailed the Bucks/Bulls NBA playoff game on ESPN (2.3).
