Overnight ratings were up double-digits for college football on ABC.
ABC drew strong numbers for regional college football action on Saturday afternoon. Regional coverage, featuring Miami/Virginia Tech, drew a 4.4 overnight — up 29% from a 3.4 last year.
The 4.4 overnight is the third-highest of the season for college football on broadcast, behind a 4.8 for Tennessee/Florida on CBS and a 5.6 for Notre Dame/Michigan on ABC.
On Saturday night, ABC drew a 4.0 overnight for Iowa/Penn State, up 29% from a 3.1 for Georgia/Arizona State last season. Despite the increase, the 4.0 is the lowest of the season for Saturday Night Football, behind a 4.2 for Alabama/Va. Tech and a 4.3 for Texas Tech/Texas.
Overall, ABC averaged a 4.2 overnight for its college football doubleheader on Saturday, up 27% from a 3.3 last year.
