ABC continues to do well with college football telecasts.
Iowa’s upset victory over Penn State drew a 4.0 rating and 6.4 million viewers on ABC last Saturday night, up a whopping 48% and 58%, respectively, from Georgia/Arizona State last year (2.7, 4 mil).
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Miami/Va. Tech drew a 3.9 rating and 6.1 million viewers, up 18% in ratings from a 3.3 for comparable coverage last year.
The two games ranked as the two most-viewed non-NFL sporting events of the week.
Through Saturday, ABC is averaging a 4.0 rating and 6.5 million viewers for college football coverage (7 telecasts), up 14% and 20%, respectively, from a 3.5 and 5.4 million through the same point last year.
