The Chase for the Cup continues its slow start on ABC.
Sunday’s AAA 400 drew a 3.1 rating and 5.1 million viewers on ABC, down 6% and 5%, respectively, from last year’s race (3.3, 5.3 mil). The 3.1 rating is tied as the lowest for the AAA 400 since ’01.
Through two races, the Chase for the Cup is averaging 5.1 million viewers on ABC, down 11% from 5.7 million through the first two races last year.
For the season, 25 NASCAR races have averaged 7 million viewers on FOX, TNT, ESPN and ABC. This does not include the Coca Cola 600, Pennsylvania 500 or the Heluva Good! at the Glen, each of which was postponed due to rain.
