NBCSN scored a solid increase in viewership for Game 2 of the Lightning/Rangers series.
Game 2 of the Lightning/Rangers NHL Eastern Conference final drew 1.9 million viewers on NBCSN Monday night, up 26% from Rangers/Canadiens last year (1.5M) but down 29% from Bruins/Penguins in 2013 (2.6M).
The Lightning’s win earned the fifth-largest audience of the postseason on cable. The Rangers have played in three of the five most-watched games thus far.
Locally, the game drew an 8.7 rating in Tampa-St. Petersburg — the market’s highest rating for an NHL game on the NBC family of networks. NBC Sports did not disclose New York’s rating in a Tuesday press release.
